ZARATHUSTRA - Perpetual Black Force

Wow, I didn`t expect such an awesome piece of Black Metal from this German five-piece, honestly said! – I must confess when I heard the name ZARATHUSTRA I always thought of the infamous book written by good old Friedrich, and much later also the band came into my mind, but perhaps now this has to be the way round? Hehe, nah, I don`t think so, but it`s no secret that `Perpetual Black Force` kills from the beginning until the end! I used to listen to the 1st few ZARATHUSTRA releases once a few years ago, and I always thought it was a good but not spectacular band (in the typical Norwegian tradition back then)... ZARATHUSTRA used to move down south a few kilo meters, reaching the Swedish border, and thus their music reminds me – sorry for mentioning these comparisons! – of groups like i.e. MARDUK or (more obviously) newer DARK FUNERAL. – This doesn`t mean that plagiarism takes place here, no way! ZARATHUSTRA really sound unique and original (some Thrash hints every now and then included), but there are obvious influences, furthermore this is also to be seen as praise as the playing skills of the drummer, the guitarists and bassist as well as the desecrating vokills are recorded in a really professional way. With `Perpetual Black Force` this group pushes themselves straight towards the throne of the German Black Metal scene they`ve got to share with bands like i.e. SECRETS OF THE MOON. The sound is professional, powerful, the lyrical concept is more competent than those awkwardly boring hate tirades towards Christianity most of nowadays´ groups are not eager to repeat on and on... – i.e. the words of `Way Of The Creator` were written down by the above mentioned Mr. Nietzsche. All in all `Perpetual Black Force` is not something out of the ordinary (and this is an advantage for me...!), but a definite highlight of a good and traditional Black Metal album instead!
