WYRD were originally formed under the moniker of HELLKULT in 1997 by Narqath and Kalma (AZAGHAL). As HELLKULT the 2 members released 3 demos before Kalma left and Narqath decided to continue solo. The name was changed to WYRD and 2 demos were made which landed Narqath a deal with Millenium Metal Music with whom 2 albums were then released. 2003 saw the release of the limited to 500 copies demo compilation, "Wrath & Revenge" by Desolate Landscapes as well as a brand new recording, "Vargtimmen Pt. I" on Solistitium (a division of Millenium Metal Music). Lyrically the band touches upon old folklore and nordic mythology.
