Because of a tragic event Windir decided to quit, and out of the ashes from Windir a new band is born, which is called Vreid (Vreid is Norwegian for wrath by the way). In the line-up of Vreid we find Hváll on bass, Steingrim on drums and Sture on vocals and guitar, and all three were from Windir. One new member has been added to Vreid which is Ese, and he has been a close friend of the Vreid members for years already. And not just that, Ese was also co-engineer on Windir's "Likferd" album.

Most of the music for Vreid's debut album called "Kraft" is written by Hváll and therefore it will be a continuation of the music he had written for both Ulcus and Windir. Some new elements are added to the already known sound of Windir and Ulcus, which are also the Norwegian underground blackmetal sound and a dirty rock & roll groove like Motorhead.
