If you like NEVERMORE and EIDOLON then this is another band to add to the CD-rack. Brooding, pulsating slabs of Metal-riffery and a strong vocal performance by Greek born Roberto Dimitri Liapakis turns this into a bit of a surprise package. The opening track "The Fire Burns" sets the tone with a razor sharp riff that pins the ears back. "Point Of No Return" does much the same.

An album dedicated to the study of suicide isn't everyone's cup of tea, but what the hell the music is what matters. Keyboard fills sweep across and behind the guitar attack of Frank Pane adding that Euro feel to the whole proceedings. The production is first rate.

Honestly there isn't that much to add. If you want a piece of quality Power Metal that combines the best of North America and Europe and doesn't have the slightest reference to Dragons and Elves then this is more than a welcome respite. -metal-observer.com
