Ok, the most obvious oldschool element about this album is definitely the cover! Usipian has played a dirty trick upon us, and hired famous 'oldschool cover'-artist Dan Seagrave, known for his countless covers during the early 90's (Suffocation, Entombed, Edge of Sanity, Morbid Angel a.o.). The cover is filled with an atmosphere of sinister darkness...and oldschool - Just one quick glance at this excellent cover should already give you an idea of how this album sounds! Well, 'Oldschool Death Metal' can of course have different meanings. Often a geographic division can help one to decide further. Usipian have a sound and style, that evokes memories of old bands like Morbid Angel, Incantation and Immolation. If this makes sense to you, just go and buy this album!
