The ultimate black metal album. The sound is perfect. The atmosphere is cold and dark. The songs are both savage and beautifully melodic. The guitars churn out beuatiful melody after beuatiful melody in the style of Darkthrone's 'Transilvanian Hunger' only much better. All in all a majestic album of pure class. The definition of True Norwegian Black Metal!

this is one of my favorite albums of all time. blistering thrash/blast beats, melodic acoustic sections, the recording is muddy enough to add great atmosphere but still plenty clear enough to follow the riffs, cold shreading solos played over melodic riffs, grim raspy vocals sound as if spoken through ancient forests. this is one of the best, if not the best black metal albums ever to come fourth from the europian scene. a must have for anyone with a passion for extreme music.
