Hailing from Norway, the band teeters to the fringe of black metal but executes more subdued compositions. Tidfall strike a relevant balance between melody and brutality. Great opening track foreshadows the pleasure to come via this aural assault. Considering a blind taste test, one may think they are listening to Dimmu Borgir, this is not a bad thing. The band originally formed in 1992 and reinvented themselves trough the mid 90's with the addition of keyboards. The band paid their dues working through the Norwegian scene, releasing demos while being signed to Nocturnal Arts production (Zyklon/Emperor).Emperor is dead. (Who cares?) life moves on, an heir to their throne is apparent. In the greater scheme of things, nice mix of black metal guitars with an appropriate mix of death vocals including, a dash of keyboards. The wrathful vengeance continues throughout with a barrage of metal mixes The following tracks stand out: "Children of man", 'The Empire", and "Domination Complete". The disc cranks with phenomenal production and an expansive musical score. Euro roots are demonstrated through a mix of speed? guitar solo, and power riffing.
