Thyrfing definitely moves in a new direction in their so far glorious career. Not that "Vansinnesvisor" is a completely different chapter, but the modern sound created by Daniel Bergstrand gives them a much more mature and diverse sound. Still melodic guitars, with epic keyboards and raging vocals create the Viking-sound we all know, so in song-writing there has not been a major change of style. This new album will surely appeal to the fans of their previous albums, but should attract new fans as well, since this will crossover to the audience that listens to Metal in the widest sense of the word.
