'Travesty Of Heavenly Essence' is the fifth full-length album by this Finnish band. There where the band experimented with industrial and techno sounds on the last album 'Hyponic', with this album Thyrane returns to the original black metal roots of the earlier albums. Thyrane's black metal reminds me most of a band like Old Man's Child, both melodic and aggressive. Powerful guitar riffs are combined with lots of melody and atmospheric keyboards, but 'Travesty…' contains enough aggression and speed, so that the album doesn't sound sweet or soft.
