| Divine Austrailian death doom. Imagine a Type O Negative and Babylon Whores hybrid crossed with "As The Flower Withers" era My Dying Bride. Now sprinkle generously with "Brave Murder Day" era Katatonia and you have a good idea what This Tangled Web is all about. Evil Edith (Suffering Jesus Distribution) |

| This band from Down Under began in '98 as a three piece whose aim was to make music that defied categorization. However that won't stop us from trying. They call their brand of metal Dark Metal but I can definately see elements of Doom, some death and a few gothic passages. Comparisons abound range from Disembowlment to My Dying Bride but I think the new material which consists of No Funeral and Recycle is a nice blend of all styles. On top of that it's well done and production is actually pretty damn good. I like the trade off between the death vocals and the deeper gothic vocals to, nice touch! Their scheduled to release a 6 or 7 track EP in 2002 and from all indications it should be pretty damn good. John Ridge (Underground Zine Scene) |
