With the fifth Therion album Christoffer Johnson has finally gotten what he wanted: a full production with a probably stunning budget. Hiring two choirs and recording in a top studio was sure worth it, and if I can judge by the people I meet, this was a golden stroke, because it seems like everyone has suddenly heard about Therion and putting them in the same frame as bands as Moonspell.

People who have heard all the previous albums can see that what came out of this album is a very steady process that started with their second album "Beyond Sanctorum" and this progress makes me very interested in what Therion will manage to do with their next album.

The lead vocals, when not done by a choir, have mainly been taken over by Piotr Wawrzeniuk, and that also is a right move. I feel that Christoffer was a great growler, but as a cleanish vocalist he still had some things to learn, and this way it has been done very gratifyingly.

My highest recommendations.
