Taking inspiration from such bands as Anathema, The Gathering and My Dying Bride, The Provenance created a sound of progressive death metal / gothic riffing that could be referenced to a heavier The Gathering (a la Mandylion). This album offers some 70s inspired progressive passages making a great balance of ethereal beauty and abrasive overtones. Great harmonies and majestic melodies that would greatly appease those that appreciate the beauty of dark atmospheric metal.
