It's really a strange line-up, which was formed in 1989. The guitar player and keyboarder Ingo Klemens actually is a doctor, keyboarder and programmer Heiko Wersing is a physicist and singer Elten Andresen regularly works as singer in operas. Together they made music just for fun, but supporting gigs for DAS ICH, NEON JUDGEMENT and IN THE NURSERY attracted the strong attention of the audience, so an official release was highly demanded. The debut „Every Tear Dries" (1995) convinced with dark wave, melancholic pop, powerful rhythms, elegant keyboard harmonies, cutting guitar riffs and elegiac singing melodies. Because of their professions time was hard to find for a constant work on new material, but THE ESCAPE kept their style through the following years pleasently moved in the area of dark wave between DEINE LAKAIEN, DREADFUL SHADOWS and SISTERS OF MERCY. -mementomateria.se
