The melodic sound of songs are so beautyfull...
en the scream and rwaness makes it all complete, a true black master album.
One of my best black bands.

Taake takes the older black metal mold of intense raw power and combines it with the more fleeting quality of innovation and emotion that seperate the greats from the immitators. The sound and structure of this release reminds me heavily of older Satyricon, it's also similar to Kvist, and also the best moments of Darkthrone.

Some have commented that Taake has even more relevance as a refinement of the older Norweigan black metal sound in that it has none of the typical image - no spikes, corpsepaint, swords, or other hyperbole. Just a dark, somber feel and some expansive mood created mostly with swirling guitar riffage and some very innovative rythm and percussive passages. There are some keyboards on a few tracks, but for the most part this is more rooted in the traditional black metal aesthetic, and grows uniquely from there. An excellent release from an excellent band.
