Probably one of the most influential and pertinent black metal recordings to effect today's black metal climate, Silencer is world renowned for their unique blend of psychotic melancholia and somber black atmospheres. They accomplished this with only one album ever recorded. Recorded between 1995-2000 and originally released in 2000 by Prophecy Productions. It can be said that more popular bands of today such as Xasthur and Leviathan might perhaps be itching that ghost limb were Silencer to be eradicated from history.
