A modern Polish Death/Thrash Outfit working closely within the challenging and technical confines of the Death/Atheist/Cynic vein of metal. Although not as amazing as any of the three major bands they sound like, it is a welcome addition to the world of endless cloning and repetition to see a group working in such a neglected and musically interesting medium. The technicality of this work is next to flawless, and the lead guitar sweeeps and screams as well as should be expected in this type of blistering palm-muted thrash attack; however there is a certain lack of creativity here.

The best comparison I can make would be to say that just like so many bands try to imitate At The Gates with decent success but without the hard-to-grasp songwriting quality that makes that band such a huge influence, so does Sceptic attempt to be like Death and Atheist. They even pay a very well-executed tribute to Nocturnus and lay down a jazz-metal instumental track towards the end of the album, to complete the genre tone they were going for.

All in all this is a very good technical death/thrash release that fans of Death, Cynic, Atheist, and Nocturnus will appreciate. No silly vocals, no pompus fuity sci-fi ambience, just good old technical percussive metal.
