Hailing from the unholy lands of Israel comes SALEM with an offering that is the most aggressive they have written since their formation in the mid 80´s. It´s no wonder considering where they are from. "Collective Demise" is a great offering of Death Metal with Thrash, Black and Middle Eastern elements. The variety here is fantastic. The high points are: the excellent combination of tormented male Death / Black vocals and eerie female vocals, devoid of gayness and used sparingly, winding guitar harmonies contrasted with heavy, very addictive riffing and the various Middle Eastern influences to add the special touch to a very worthy purchase. If you like MELECHESH or ARALLU then do yourself a favour and add another excellent album to your collection. I´m glad I have.
