This unknown trio from Russia has made one of the most diverse pieces of metal I've heard in the last few years. Although the name of Rakoth's label, Code666, might in a way suggest that Planeshift is a straightforward black metal album, nothing is less true. Planeshift has myriad of influences, ranging from medieval folk to black metal and every song has a true epic fantasy atmosphere. Rakoth is maybe best described as Haggard meets Dornenreich.
