Dan Swano about "I":
This is one helluva good album. I just had to write that because I feel really good about this release! This one qualifies into category of "real records" that I have made. (Together with stuff like my own "Moontower" and Unicorn's "Ever Since".) I am very happy with everything from the songs to the sound to layout. Everything! People seem to like it a lot and I feel that there is a real future in this project. The lyrics for "I" is really the beginning of the whole trilogy that's why I have put it on top of the others two on this page. The lyrics for a three albums is right there in the booklet but I am not sure you will get the concept anyway, it's rather wacky!! The first track I wrote for this album was "I Return". Back then it was meant to be for the Odysset project but when I played it to Kenth he was horrified because it was too commerical, so I wrote "I Carry A Secret" for that one instead and put this one aside. When I visitied my brother (Tom Nouga a.k.a. Dag Swanö) some time later I played him this "I Return" thing and he liked it. A bit later on he played me some re-recordings of his old tracks as Tom Nouga (all sung in Swedish, brilliant stuff always!!l) and we both came to the conclusion that all the tracks he played for me was perfect for Nightingale!! I wrote english lyrics but kept the vocalharmonies intact. The oldest track "Alonely" (originally called "Kajor") must be around 15 years old if not older!! It feels great to have another songwriter onboard this project. Someone with a similar style to mine but still a bit different. I also had some help from Clive Nolan from Arena. He composed some nice interludes to go inbetween some of the tracks. What happened was that I edited most of them pretty heavily but I kept one lenghty piece and made it a complete track on the album because I love it soo much!! It's called "Breathing" and it's an extremely powerful instrumental track based on the theme from "Nightfall Overture".It's our very best this far!
