While most of Florida's death mongers harness their sound for intense riffage and savage jaggedness, Nephasth swiftly grind along in breakneck precision with a delirious delivery that has its own charm (as in "I'm charmed to rip your spleen apart").

For some sonic diversion, Nephasth prefer a claustrophobic production that rips from the speakers a full notch louder and faster. This dry sound shoves the drums and voices towards the center, leaving the strings to the back end. Weird, because you almost strain to hear the guitar runs -- some of the wildest, slippery stretches adding to the band's maniacal din. It's an unusually brave touch considering the bottom-heavy sound assigned to the majority of releases.

Chances are, if you dig the spicy South American death garble of Rabaellium or Krisiun, you'll probably enjoy Nephasth's brisk brutality.
