Nargaroth at times is an act which whilst at times adhering to the tradition and spirit that is and always will be Black Metal, is one that at oft times presents works as a fist in the face of the prevailing orthodoxy and banality of the time. Nargaroth is BLACK METAL, however this release is BLACK DEATH METAL through and through and Kanwulf really does this with no regret. Nargaroth is here, as ever, far from the usual self indulgent egotism that is so often the sign of solo bands/projects and stems from something that is deep inside he that invokes it.

The new Nargaroth CD is what one comes to expect from Kanwulf. This album evokes the Transylvanian Hunger era of Darkthrone, but with added atmosphere with periodic keyboarding. The intro, "Love is Always Over with Ejaculation," uses a sample clip from the movie, "Blue Velvet," by David Lynch. If you enjoyed Nargaroth's back catalogue, you will be pleased with this album as well.
