METAL INDIA - ISSUE #2 (44 pages)
Interviews: IMMORTAL, GRUESOME MALADY, KRYPTOS, ABHORRED, VOMITORY, NORTHER, HAEMORRHAGE, LUNATIC GODS & more.
Here we have the second issue of this very good & highly informative zine out of India. I really enjoyed the first issue a lot & this new issue is even better. It has a very nice layout filled with lots of interviews, photos, artwork, ads, editorial page, Metal news section, music reviews, zine reviews & more. there's a cool article covering the Deathfest 2003 Festival. The zine is full sized done all in black & white on normal stock paper & is all photo copied, but is very professional looking. This is ahighly recommended zine. All extreme Metal fans should get this now!!!

I guess the name of the fanzine says it all: Expect some real underground madness from the deepest depths of the Indian Metal underground! But it`s kinda strange that there`s a picture of Northern sons IMMORTAL to be found (one of those hilarious pictures from one of their newer outputs), but it`s clear when you have a closer look at the four-paged tribute story to this Norwegian Black Metal act that once used to have a cult status... Time changes, the same goes out to this zine: I mean, the times of having some amateurishly-layouted, badly copied mags in our hands, filled with exclusive information about current acts from exotic countries, seem to be kinda over. "Metalindia" is a copied zine, featuring also more well-known acts like i.e. VOMITORY, THYRFING, NORTHER, COCK AND BALL TORTURE, HAEMORRHAGE or LUNATIC GODS from Slovakia. Nevertheless there are also some quite interesting reports about original South East Asian acts/companies, like i.e. GRUESOME MALADY, UNDYING INC., KRYPTOS from India, ROTTREVORE RECORDS and AAAARRRGGGHHH (great name for a brutal Death Metal act...) from Indonesia and ABHORRED from Dubai. Furthermore you`re able to read a great festival tour report about the infamous "Deathfest" that used to take place in India. What I think is really great are those pages introducing underground acts like i.e. BELIAL, DEFLESH, MYNDSNARE (all India), STERNENSTAUB (Austria), DEFILED (Japan), NARASIMHA, AZRA-EL (both Singapore), EPITAPHIUM (Norway), DAWN OF DEFIANCE (Uruguay) and ALASTOR (Costa Rica). Furthermore you also get some reviews from bands world-wide, well-known as well as underground groups, and, last but not least, fanzine criticism as well as underground news pages. So "Metalindia" definitely is worth to be checked out if you want to get to know a bit more about the South East Asian Harmageddon out there (although I personally don`t like each band featured on these pages)...!
