This is the pioneers of Mesopotamian/Assyrian Black Metal long lost 7" EP release from 1996! MELECHESH cast off any evidence of the judeo-christian tradition commonly associated with the "holy lands" to burst forth with decidedly Satanic/Pagan extreme-Metal that is sure to win many followers. "The Siege of Lachish" on side A blends old-school Thrash with both grim vocals & Gregorian war chants (akin to the Viking Metal singing of Bathory, Enslaved, & Einherjer), mixed innovatively with Oriental (Middle-Eastern) melodies for a stirring, anthemic punch. "Malek Al Nar" on side B presents a more Nordic attack with a guitar sound straight out of Bathory's "The Return of...", add atmospheric keyboards & harsh vocals.
