WLA is one of Mayhem's albums I keep coming back to listen to. The speed and intensity are there in a big way and an essential album own if you're a Mayhem fan.

This is, in my opinion, Mayhem at their best. The music is technical and unique yet completely true to the original ideas evidenced on Deathcrush and, moreover, De Mysteriis. A lot of people underrate this, perhaps because of the drum-led production, or maybe because Euro wasn't on this release. But it clatters forth very impressively indeed. Hails.
