This is the BEST Black Metal LP of all time, period. All that came before or after will forever cower in the shadow of De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas.
EVERY track is a BM classic. "Funeral Fog" is the best BM song ever composed in my opinion. Atilla's vox rule because they don't sound like the typical castrati BM yelping. And there is nothing in my entire collection that can follow the title track...

A decent black metal release that was better during it's time. Comparable to mainstream records in that half the album is excellent, with the other half being "filler tracks." Definitely not to the level of pure aggression and intensity that "Wolf's Lair Abyss" provided.
2003-04-27 : Conqueror
This is the best Mayhem album available. With Varg Vikernes on bass, the man who murdered Euryonomous. Totally essential Black Metal.
2003-04-17 : Crusher
This is Mayhem's best album, totally
cult and essential.
