| I had read that someone from a popular Norwegian band had performed in Kvikksolvguttene, this was some time last year, and recently found myself at the c.d. store holding it, trying to remember who it was. I had to buy it to find out, as it was bugging the shit out of me... Upon opening the booklet I saw the face of Necrobutcher, going by merely "Necro". I am always interested in the side projects that involve well known members of the B.M. scene, so an eager listening ensued, and sure enough you have some stripped-down, ugly raw blackened death metal, The vocals at first remind one slightly of newer Cadaver i.e. Appolyon, but with thier own sound, very fitting to the music itself, which varies slightly between mid-paced to faster parts, sick distortion and pounding percussion, very underground sounding, but also enjoyable, especially if you have a loud car stereo and feel the need to terrify unsuspecting christian swine with thier windows down as well. I don't know if this is out of print, but I do like having rare material, especially by one as respected as Necrobutcher. Similiar artists: Early Mayhem, Cadaver. Rating: 7.5 / 10 |
