Epic and melancholy Pagan Black Metal from Germany! High-density, high-calibre atmospheric Nordic-influenced Teutonic attack, somewhat in the 'Suicidal' vein of ABYSSIC HATE, FORGOTTEN TOMB, or WEAKLING (SF), but also reminiscent of early ULVER's "Bergtatt" album, trance-inducing SYKDOM, and Viking-oriented ENSLAVED. Nearly an hour (57 minutes) worth of powerful Blackened dirges that veer from funereal majesty with militaristic drumming (by session-drummer from NAGELFAR / GRAUPEL / THE RUINS OF BEVERAST), to all-out blasting orthodox Black Metal! A bit of apocalyptic neo-folk patterned after post-DEATH IN JUNE styled German Dark Ambient bands (like HEKATE, IN MY ROSARY, ERNTE, ORPLID, etc.) is added to the Pagan Metal mix without the use of any keyboards, no female vocals, or other [folk] instrumentation for a crushing atmosphere that harkens back to the best by EMPYRIUM, ELEND, ISVIND, VINTERSEMESTRE, VINTERSORG (not the 'Power Metal' stuff, though), etc. Two of the songs clock in at over 21 minutes each!
