What's most amazing about Incantation is how guitarist John McEntee has kept the band operating at optimum level. The labels may change, band members come and go (well over twenty at this point), sometimes even returning, but Incantation will always release a quality death metal album with spectacular artwork. For the recording of Decimate Christendom, Incantation became a trio; McEntee now doubles as vocalist (why didnt he do this sooner?) and he's joined once again by drummer Kyle Severn and bassist Joe Lombard. I'm happy to report that Incantation still add plenty of those doomy riffs ("Oath of Armageddon" and "Blaspheme the Sacraments"). One killer track is "Thorns of Everlasting Persecution;" fast, energetic death metal with lots of harmonic guitar squeals make for a lively listen. There's no such thing as a bad Incantation album. - Transcending the Mundane zine.
