More from German band Illuminate here and this CD starts with a keyboard intro straight from the Eurovision Song Contest book, sounding like 'Unchainted Melody'. It lasts for what seems like an eternity and leads into 'Verzeih' mir!', another key led piece.

At this time I'm sat confused as the vocals come in, in German tongue, and continuing the bland pop ballad angles. 'Sonnenkind' introduces some guitars and a bit of actual backbone but, it all sounds wrong. Vocals loud, rhythms there but buried in the background, no life to it. Occasionally there are some nice harmonies to speak of, 'Ich glaub' an Dich!' for example combines male and female vocals to good effect, but the light and dreamy music does very little for me. It seems a shame that on this sampler the second best track is cut short.

Maybe it is for the best that only two songs are in full though, one of those two, 'Ich kenn' die Welt nicht mehr' has SOMETHING! I'm not sure what, the dual vocal effect works well despite sounding like The Proclaimers with an electro backing band practising on the demo mode, and the guitars sound pretty good at the chorus.
