The genre name "crust" was coined by Hellbastard with their demo release "Ripper Crust." That demo also became the "archetype" for how crust punk/hardcore would sound like in due time. Although Amebix are said to pioneer the sound of crust punk, they never actually coined the term or gave their style a name (it was just known as anarcho-punk back in their time.)
