Take your aspirin, kiddies, and remember---no pacemakers within 50 yards! From the pounding opening drum battle in "The Master Sleeps," you become quite happy with this purchase. Eric A.K. has a higher pitched voice on this release, but it only becomes a bit tiresome after hearing his more throaty wails on later releases. In any case, he showcases incredible range. Guitars are in the vein of Metallica's Master Of Puppets, though not quite as etched.
FAJ execute pure radiance here on "October Thorns"; Slayer- style riffs smeared over captivating bass/drums tight rhythms. And let's not forget one of the heaviest moments in metal on "Suffer The Masses". Heads bobbing, hair flying, and pits churning.
Highlights are congested all over the place, making many tracks stand out.
