Errata were formed in the summer of 2002 by vocalist Pringle and guitarist George and are to be found based in Edinburgh,Scotland! The two jammed with a number of local friends before coming across the line up that was to record the first 5 track e.p. "...become a war" in october of that year.Thus being the founding members and Guss(bass),Hammy(drums),Conor(guitar).Harnessing the sound of Errata when the band was heavily influenced by bands such as Brutal Truth and Napalm death,the cd began to sell very fast. The band enjoyed many successful shows with mainly scottish bands of the same ilk,(GodPlayer, Madman Is Absolute,Co-Exist, Zillah, In Decades Decline) quickly gaining a reputation as a formidable live act! Errata then slimmed down to a four piece,losing Conor from guitar in the middle of 2003. Then came the second recording `Broken,But Not Dead`,in november of that year. Showing the band had matured and found more of there own sound,drawing more influences from hardcore acts such as Hatebreed,as well as the usual extreme metal sound! On the first week of release the cd shifted in excess of 100 copies in theie hometown alone and is still selling well today. Then in june of 2004,Guss decided he could no longer be a part of Errata. A replacement was found in Mat, who the band had seen perform live in another local band and were more than impressed with his skills! This move was to shape the band into the tightest incarnation of Errata so far! Playing with signed acts such as Man Must Die and Stampin Ground,the new line up was established! So with plans for an album and a furious amount of new songs on the horizon,the future is busy for the guys. So watch out for Errata grabbing everything in there path by the throat, retaining a hardcore attitude with a classic heavy metal edge...prepare to be mauled!
