Emperor's swansong of technical prowess. Ihsahn has really outdone himself with this release, as has Samoth and Trym.

Emperor are unbelievable! And Promethius... takes bm to a new level entirely. The Eruption begins with an eery harpsichord opening, moving in to louder and louder sections, flowing in to "Depraved" seamlessly, this album is a cut above the rest. Aswell as these two tracks, the other highlight has to be "The Tongue Of Fire", a beautiful, powerful, romantic, thrashing, melodic scream in the middle of the album. This album will leave you either in disgust or in awe, a must have for black metallers!

Now this is a little more like Emperor. Prometheus is a good comeback after the rather dismal Equilibrium. Not quite on par with the essential Emperor classics, but a good all around album from the BM veterans.
