Dismantling Devotion, the second album from Daylight Dies, is a giant step forward for the already popular quintet. Four years in the making and nearly an hour in length, it is a record filled with quality musicianship that travels a dark and passionate road that will ultimately nestle itself into the hearts of death, doom and dark music fans everywhere.
Formed in 1996, Terrorizer Magazine called Daylight Dies' 2003 debut "memorable and engaging". Outburn Magazine proclaimed, "pristine doom metal". Digital Metal added, "a combination of dark melody and deathly aggression".
With Dismantling Devotion, the band look to further their already growing profile. Drummer Jesse Haff notes "it is certainly the most mature material we've written to date. For us it is a strong progression that really shows off our emotionally dark and desperate music; a diverse mix of melancholic, melodic and exceedingly heavy songs."
