Returning after a long hiatus, the Czech Republic's Darkstorm have unleashed their greatest album to date in the form of "Infernal Tyrant". Released under the Agonia banner, this album is a spine severing Black Metal onslaught from first note to last. The band, featuring former members of the sadly defunct Maniac Butcher, show no mercy and offer no quarter on any of these eight songs, scorching the skin right from the get-go. There is a wealth of intense and maniacal (no pun intended) guitar work going on here, from speed-laden bursts to slower, groovier passages. Yup, there really isn't much else to say here, other than if you enjoy heavy and intense Darkthrone-esque Black Metal with a strong Celtic Frost influence, then Darkstorm's "Infernal Tyrant" should be another excellent offering to add to your CD collection. - MetalGeorge / www.live4metal.com
