100% - a masterpiece that has no equal! Review done.
Okay, that would be a lame review but it consists everything to say about this first release of Switzerland's Darkspace.

The first song starts in an ambient part which takes about 2 minutes. You hear a indefinable echo-like soundscape that gives you a very sinister feeling (and you shall not be disappointed!). After these 2 minutes that prepare you for what will follow in the next 1:17 hours, the devastating cold and brutal riffs, accompanied by an inhumanly fast beating drum machine, knocks you down and won't let you breathe or rest until you are released to your world again. From time to time you have to bear distorted screams that sent shivers down your spine! As far as I know there are no lyrics in any of the songs. Only these terrifying screams. But now and then I believed to hear "words". But up to now I don't know if I only have imagined this… The only parts where I am sure to hear human voices are the samples which Darkspace implanted (e.g. from "2001: A Space Odyssey") in their tracks.

Something confused me a little bit: although it's Black Metal there are also obviously Death Metal and other riffs played in the songs. But they fit very well in the whole construct like everything else.

"Dark Space I" is first a mystery to the auditor. An indefinable mix of different styles, samples and ambient sounds combined to a terrifying musical abyss. But after several wanderings through Darkspace's dimension, you'll notice the fine differences in each song which make every track to a stand alone masterpiece that fascinates you for hours.

The most enthralling moment on the whole release is (according to my personal opinion) track 1.7 from 3:30 – 3:56 and from 6:43 – 7:09. It's thrilling, frightening and bewitching at the same time! Listen to it and you'll know what I mean!
