Dark Funeral is without a doubt, one of the most respected names in black metal,
along with Emperor, Mayhem Marduk, Enslaved and Satyricon. Throughout the band's
existence they have opened up new doors in the genre, while never sacrificing
their confrontational and explosive core sound which began right here with this
seminal EP. Originally a self titled MCD, "In The Sign..." has now been re-unleashed with new artwork by cult artist Necrolord, rare bonus tracks (cover versions of classic Bathory songs!), and never before seen artwork and photos from the band members' personal collections. This band personifies black metal, from their legendary destruction rituals performed on stage, to their cold and relentless music, to their over-the-top corpsepaint and spikes image. Dark Funeral is what black metal is all about-and "In The Sign..." is the lost first chapter in a
violent odyssey that is still unfolding.
This needs no explanation - if you don't own it, you're not "Black Metal" man!
