Review by Tony Anderson for the new Rivot Rag Magazine:
CRIMSON MASSACRE out of Houston, Texas formed in 2001. They came onto the scene with their self released album in 2003 "TEMPLE OF GORE." As the years have passed they have put out a 4 way split with BAHIMIRON, FUNERAL RITES, and ADUMUS released under KILLZONE RECORDS in 2003. Now after member changes in 2005 the band offers up "THE LUSTER OF PANDEMONIUM" on DEATHGASM RECORDS. A brutal attack that features nine tracks recorded at ORIGIN SOUND and MEDIA in Texas. The first song is "CATALYST'S TOUNGE" starts off with a blistering technical melody that reeks of choas and damnation. As JAMES JACKSON guitar/bass, SCOTT HORNE on percussion, and BILL LEDGERWOON on guitar/bass destroy the listener with their relentless musical onslaught. Floridas very own PETER OLEN (DARK FAITH) handles the vocals. Peter is one of the top vocalists in the local scene and in my opinion this is some of his best work yet. The second song "CONQUEST" continues with the same rage as "CATALYST'S TOUNGE" a brutality that can be heard through out the record. Other songs that stand out on this release are "EPOCH", "REDEMPTION" and the tilte track "THE LUSTER OF PANDEMONIUM." When asked to define this record JAMES JACKSON stated "a leap of faith placed in a grey-area of eccentric and friction-enfused death metal that spawns a clearer image of perception.". This is a album that all should add to their collection. For more info go to www.crimsonmassacre.com or www.deathgasm.com .
