Collapse 7 was formerly known as Pathetic and is a band with quite a long past. The band was founded in 1992 as Scent of Paradise and played doom/death metal, with the passing of time the music shifted to death metal pur sang but they never became a prominenet name in the international scene. After founders Werner and Mario (also active in Pungent Stench) joined Hollenthon in 2001 they met drummer Mike and in 2003 he became a member of the newlt founded Collapse 7.

Well, well. And now a deal with Napalm records. Things can change fast. The big question however is the justification of this record-deal. There are a lot of bands which play decent music out there, and only a few highly-prized deals so to speak.

And to make a long story short, I think that Napalm records had better shopped some more in search of bands to add to their catalogue. Because although Collapse 7 consists of experienced members with enough instrumental skills, I do miss a very important aspect of what I consider a fine metal album, which is the ability to write flowing and resourceful material, tracks that keep pounding in your head long after you turn off the CD.
It seems to me that there was not enough attention to detail. In other words: when I listened to "In Deep Silence" I couldn't stop myself from yawning every once and a while.

And that's too bad because when a band possesses both instrumental skill and experience, it's only a small step to creating a blasting (death metal) album, is it?
