1st off let me get right to the point. cianides` divide and conquer is one great album that combines the sound and quality of the 80`s with a little touch of 90`s death metal. confused??? their 65% celtic frost(before they went gay) and 35% unleashed(once again, before they went gay). before buying the album i had heard a great deal about them but had never had the balls to pick up said album in fear of it being shit and me being out $15.00. well, a while back i finally did and what a wise decision it was. down tuned guitars, heavy mid tempo and somewhat plodding beats with vocals similar to the vocalist of unleashed but with more of an exertion to them. upon the 1st listen i wasn`t entirely taken by them but with each spin of the album i`ll be damned if they aren`t one of my favorite bands. the music is brutal, catchy and stays with you well after the 1st listen. although not adding anything different to the death metal genre, they play a "if it ain`t broken why fix it" kind of death metal that death heads can`t get enough of. the only complaint is that its just slightly a minute and a half over the 30 minute mark but with material this good, who gives a shit(i usually prefer about 47 minutes to an hours worth of material). if your looking to buy an album thats worth your money($7.00 fucking dollars, how can you beat that!!!) then look no further because this is definitely the one you`ve been looking for. enjoy.
