Hungary has spawned a bunch of interesting bands already, yet most of them never really got out of the country, I just say OSSIAN or POKOLGÉP, a bit better known outside of Hungary should be the Progsters OMEGA, the Power Metal band STAINLESS STEEL and the blackies of SEAR BLISS. In the Death Metal section we can now add CASKETGARDEN, who release their debut "This Corroded Soul Of Mine" via Slovakian label Metal Age.

Founded in 1998, "This Corroded Soul Of Mine" is their full-length debut after three demos and from the very beginning on it becomes very clear who have been the influences and still are: AT THE GATES, and most probably also THE HAUNTED and consorts, because those do not only shine through, but break through and the influence of British Doom bands in the sad melodies seems to have gotten lost somewhere. Instead it is thrashy Death Metal of the Swedish and mostly Gothenburg school that we get here. -metal-observer.com
