Carved in Stone is a one woman project that states the real beauty in the passion of making music. I am, and always will be a fan of the most brutal types of music around, but Carved in Stone got my attention once it made it's way into my cd player. Swawa, the woman responsible for this project, to me is a musical genius! Nordic folk music has never gotten my attention before, I kwould shun at the thought of even listening to an album like "Tales of Glory and Tragedy." Acoustic sounds mixed with a folk style and keyboards really bring out the beauty in her vocals on the songs. "Tales of Glory and Tragedy" really give your mind a sense of sorrowful happiness or a darkened thought of beauty in the world. You can feel pain in the music, you can feel happiness, you can feel sadness, and you can feel anger. All of this mixed together bring about the passion you hear in a Carved in Stone release. "Tales of Glory and Tragedy" is a musical piece of complex ideas and thoughts that just bring out the world's true feeling! Maybe I'm wrong about my opinion on this album, but atleast I know one thing for sure, this is a release worth listening to more than once. The atmospheric feeling and the ambient music make the tracks "Abschied", "Mighty Friends," and "Der Fels im Moor" show the listener what Carved in Stone is all about.
