Borknagar have certainly come a long way since their self-titled debut. From folk-influenced lyrics sung solely in Norwegian by a Garm who still utilized harsh vocals, to extreme music that some purists refuse to even call black metal, featuring more cleanly-sung vocals dealing with abstract science than anything else… every Borknagar album has been both similar and different than the one before.
