Dirge Of Death's Silence is Blood Stained Dusk first big release. First off, about he whole "Emperor" sound a like thing. Do not be fooled, while BSD does have its homage here, it suffers from bad studio work and mixing. Infarct there are moments of silence between breaks! Guitars are repetitive, and become very predictable. Keyboards do nothing but follow slowly behind the guitar and are extremely choppy and fake. Drumming is the same, but its not all bad. As long as this album is less than 10 bucks, and your absolutely desperate to burn some cash on a very very mediocre BM band that hails from Huntsville Alabama, go for it. This album is not good or bad, its just kinda there. Sadly Daggeth (vocals/guitar) died January in a car crash. So id get this album and at least give it a try.

This release is similar to Emperor's In the Nightside Eclipse. It is very raw, yet flowing with somber melodies and lush soundscapes. The vocals remind me of Ihsahn early on with a hint of Dani Filth(urgh). Buy this and support the USBM scene now!
