The logical successor to bands like Joy Division, Bauhaus/Tones On Tail, Sus and The Banshees,Swans..etc!

This is not the BEST Bethlehem album like so many claim, thats either DARK METAL or S.U.I.Z.I.D. you decide, this album is still a masterpiece though.

We are the Germans, DO NOT MESS WITH US!!!!

This is one of the most incredible cd's i have ever had the opportunity of listening to. I was introduced to bethlehem by watching GUMMO soundtrack and hearing the song during the end credits.... MESMERIZING!!! I am intensely satisfied with all the pain in their lyrics and it very much so relates to everyday life. I just wish i could find that gummo soundtrack... IT'S IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!

DICTIUS TE NECARE IS RECOMENDED TO ALL HOMOSSEXUAL PEOPLE AND SUICIDE PEOPLE...
IT HAS FAG FRENZY VOCALS AND SIMPLE COMPOSITIONS...
DRUMS ARE WORTHLESS AND THE SOUND QUALITY SUCKS.
ANYWAY IT IS A COOL CD
IF YOU HAVE SOME CASH REMAINING BUT THIS PIECE OF GAY SCENE CD

count raven's review exhaustively captures this Bethlehem release. Dictius Te Necare is one of my favorites as well, considering my own self-annihilating moods, the excellent songwriting, the superior heavy-dry production and some of the most tortured vulnerable vocals i've ever heard. the ambitious direction of S.U.I.Z.I.D. barely resembles the power of this masterpiece.

You Must Kill Yourself!
This is the translation from Latin language of this album title. And it fits perfectly with the suicidal emotions that are generated in this piece of hurtful music. This is one of my all-time favourite albums, and along with the first Burzum release and I haven’t found anything more vocally desperate or with such intensive and screeching vocal lines. It truly penetrates into ones brain inflicting sensations of utter pain and woe. It’s complete delirium to listen to these insane screams at maximum volume and feel the dark emotions running through your spine like blood running from an open skin-cut.
The astonishing thrash metal feeling and morbid rhythm is further pushed into gloominess by the dissonant guitars resembling with any other doom metal outfit, however this sick combination makes of Bethlehm a unique and sombre band in the Dark Metal camp. Probably one of a few able to create ultra sensations of despair, sickness, isolation and madness. Certainly this is not an easy record to swallow and the German singed lyrics sound very strange and spice up completely the suicidal feeling of approaching death or seeking for a final relief. The feeling I get by listening to this album is of some sort of cold energy trapped inside a human corpse trying to struggle to break free but without any success. It starts with a lot of violence entering in a state of carnival frenzy, but progressively alternates through depressive moments and it all goes down to a very icy and harsh record.
This is clinically approved for sanatorium refugees and all other dark seekers and bloodstained sleepers. An album dedicated to the victims of suicide couldn’t be more of a downfall and must-have in your record collection. Blackness is truly achieved when all means nothing.
Nail yourself to this record!

Unique, maddeningly hurtful music I think I want to label "black doom thrash" for the combination of intensity (thrash), bleakness and screechiness (black) and thoroughly integrated somberness (doom). Just amazing stuff. Almost too intense to listen to on a regular basis.
