Another profound advancement for this infamous group. A carefully crafted blend of ballad and brutality.

At once capturing the beauty of nordic spirituality and the rage of the viking warrior, this album is a true tribute to the genius of Bathory.

Opening with "Shores in Flames," a heartfelt dirge of sorrow, Hammerheart continues with it's title track, replete with all the mystical melodies expected from Bathory. "Baptized in Fire and Ice" then carries the mood a striding leap forward with an artistic expression of Nordic honor and valiantry.

"Father to Son," undoubtedly my personal favorite of the album, equal perhaps to "Baptized in Fire and Ice," tells of the passing on of the ancient traditions.

"Song to Hall Up High" is a moving devotional to the ancient deity, Odin, who's one eye blazes like the sun. "Home of Once Brave" continues with a song in honor of the North Land. "One Road to Asa Bay" speaks of the coming of the missionary of the foreign god. Finally, let us not forget "Outro" - which if you have not heard then you have never heard a Bathory album.
