Baal. A Mexican band from Mexico (heheh) that's been around since the end of 1995. For as far as I know this band released one demo in the year 2000 entitled "Passages To Eternity" and three years later their debut album is unleashed by American Line. Baal plays a rather unique style. They combine mid-paced death metal with faster black/thrash/death parts and they also use a lof of (traditional) heavy metal in their music, and this all is sometimes accompanied by a gentle keyboard and practically packed with guitarsolo's. This results in compositions that one moment are rather brutal and remind you a bit to (for instance) Necrodeath or In Flames but this can easily turn around on a more Maiden/Saxon/Priest-influenced part (Do I hear "Breaking The Law" in the final instrumental song?), so expect some varied musichere! vampire-magazine.com
