"Gloria Burgundia" is anything but a linear ride, it's full of hustle and bustle with plenty of vignettes to maintain interest. It sets itself in the province's past and in that sense has something of a FOREFATHER signature to it, the Folkish elements of the music supporting the subject matter. Whilst the album maintains a dash, drama also plays its role, there is storytelling here and so I think complaints about the helium production and lack of face-ripping are missing the point, this CD does entertain and what's more avoids much of the cheese of their heavier counterparts. -METAL OBSERVER
