Originating in Lyon, Akin leaves this mini Cd after having published in 2001 its first album "Pours". Formed in 1998, this group is presented itself in the form of a combo progressive pop metal. A definition which suits them like a glove. Because musicalement, the compositions show disparate influences. Flute and didjeridoo côtoient rhythmic "the metal". The rhythmic ones on which comes to be posed the tempting voice of Adeline Gurtner . "Forecast" consists of three new pieces, of a resumption of Moonspell ("Opium"), of an acoustic version of "Dreamland" and "To one in Paradise" in "edict version". These two last being extracted from their first album. While connecting the topics, while exploiting the alternation of the voices (song clear and vocal gutturaux), while emphasizing its work on arrangements, the group arrives, on the three new compositions, to generate penetrating environments. All this without neglecting the melody aspect of the music. One thinks in turn of groups as Gathering but also of Within Temptation with which they played. Akin has an enormous emotional potential, a musical richness of very first order, an artistic talent with the height of the hopes. Rare are the groups of this hardening. It is very promising for the future. Will also know that we are spoiled with this disc since it has a multi-media beach with, inter alia, of the vidéos. Now, it any more but does not remain us to await the continuation of the events. A second album is being prepared. By hoping that waiting is not too long. Patience thus. Still a wafer to be discovered urgently, because even if "Forecast" is only one "small" outline of the talent which lives Akin , this disc, from its diversity, offers a broad panorama of the capacities of the group. Capacities which go well beyond the yokes stylistics of the kind.
