Act Of Gods is one of the most purely brutal bands I have ever heard from France. They may be THE most brutal band I have ever heard from France. The band plays a cross between early Earache style Grindcore and early 90's style Florida Death Metal. The songs are like Cannibal Corpse or Malevolent Creation mixed with Carcass bits. The drums are blazing pure Grindcore and a total assault throughout entire tracks. The guitars have a lot of Black Metal style to them at points, but they then revert to crushing chord progressions as is the style for old style metal. The vocals have te twin sound as well. The Carcass like throaty shredded by glass set and then the Florida style ala Glenn Benton style growls. This is an album for anyone looking for the most extreme Death Metal they can find. The album is totally unrelenting with the exception of the samples they use, like the photo part from "Texas Chainsaw". Pure blood curdling metal. Myk Rudnick (The Metal Vault)
